Ms. Witt-Butler has spent her career years in music balancing performance: with San Francisco Opera Chorus, San Francisco Concert Opera, Banff Festival of the Arts, soprano soloist for the San Francisco Ballet, Oakland Symphony Chorus, Pacific Mozart Ensemble, and Pennsylvania Pro Musica. Susan has also performed in the opera houses of Cortona, Lucca and Barga, Italy. She can also be heard on recordings of Pro Musica, The IJ Chronicles of Lucas Films, and the contemporary works by Frank LaRocca.
And teaching: Professor Emerita of Voice and Opera, California State Universiy, East Bay, and recently served on the voice faculty of Sonoma State University. Susan now retains a private studio in Santa Rosa, CA.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Carnegie Mellon University, a Certificate of Study of Teatro Lirico from the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia, Rome, Italy, and a Masters of Music Performance from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA.
