The Redwood Empire Chapter of NATS is composed of dynamic and dedicated members from the Northern California area. It was established in 1995 by Thelma Dare Ahner and Bonnie Brooks, who became its first and second presidents.
Our intention is to continue to expand, explore and inform our amazing vocal community. We strive to strengthen our growing membership by continuing to provide workshops and master classes presented by artists of national and international acclaim, and by highly recognized experts in the fields of vocal pedagogy, vocal health and science as well as presenting our annual Singing Festival, inspiring student participants and their instructors.

The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging the highest standards of the vocal art in all music genres: Classical, Musical Theater, and CCM (Contemporary Commercial Music). Through workshops, master classes and a Singing Festival, we promote vocal education on all levels, for the enrichment of instructors, students, and the general public.
NATS strives to be a welcoming and supportive community of members and students who celebrate the unique identities, varied backgrounds, and experiences of all individuals. We are dedicated to ensuring that all voices are valued and heard in an inclusive environment with equitable treatment for all.
