2016 Summer Newsletter

Summer greetings everyone! 
I came across some cute summer jokes the other day and thought I’d start off with a few because they’re light-hearted and may guarantee that you’ll read the rest of the letter!—Where do sharks go on summervacation? Finland!—Why do bananas use sunscreen?Because they peel!—Which letter is the coolest? Icedt.—What do you call a French guy in sandals? Philippe Phloppe.(OK, maybe those are a younger level of humor, better enjoyed by your grandchildren, nieces or nephews…)
 
Hopefully everyone has enjoyed some time off for vacation, travel, and time with family and friends.Fall activities will soon begin to fill our calendars! Please plan to attend out potluck and General Meeting onSaturday August 27. We have some new faces to introduce to our group, and we will be talking about the upcoming fall Master Class inSeptember with Elly Lichenstein ofCinnabar Theater, and how to nominate students to participate.We’ll also lay groundwork for theScholarship Auditions in February.We didn’t do this event last year and so we want to come back with a big splash, with lots of students/singers participating and good cash prizes.Start early to talk with your students you think would benefit from this experience—it is great preparation for auditions— and the Board is open to suggestions about judges for both categories.
